Arathi Basin is a five-base battleground where keeping usable positions usually matters more than one spectacular skirmish. The Forever beta includes the familiar battleground, but updated class and PvP combat rules make dated burst assumptions unreliable.
Version note (October 2026): This guide uses Forever-specific sources. Game access, rewards and tuning may change during beta; verify them in the client before spending significant time or currency.
What matters most
Start by assigning defenders to secured nodes rather than leaving each area when the main group wins a fight. Call an enemy approach early enough for a small reinforcement group to arrive before the flag is contested. One player watching a flag is more valuable than an extra damage dealer chasing targets toward another node.
Step-by-step approach
Rotate based on the score and which roads are practical for reinforcement. A three-node advantage can collapse if everyone rides to the same fight; the map rewards maintaining coverage. If two opponents disappear, tell defenders which direction they were last seen and whether the main group can send help. Capture speed and interruption tools should be confirmed in the actual Forever client.
How to measure success and avoid bad information
A useful post-game review lists which nodes were held, how often they were left undefended and whether reinforcements arrived before captures completed. Do not invent a universal best opening: faction side, party composition and opponent response affect the choice. In-game objectives and communication decide outcomes.
Decision checklist
| Stage or choice | Action or consideration |
|---|---|
| Opening | claim nearby nodes |
| Advantage | defend three |
| Losing | coordinate one recapture |
| Close match | watch enemy rotations |
Preparation steps
- Verify the current Forever build and activity availability, not a Retail or Classic Era page.
- Identify what you can change before the session: travel, talent layout, equipment or group composition.
- Record one reproducible outcome so improvements can be measured rather than guessed.
- Reassess the plan after the next beta update and preserve notes for your group.

Frequently asked questions
How many nodes should a team aim to hold?
Holding three of five is a common strategic baseline, but execution and score can change priorities.
Should I fight on roads?
Fight when it helps delay a capture or protect teammates; otherwise return to defensible objectives.
