GUIDE

WoW Forever Legacy Unlock: Level 25, Crafting or Exploration

Forever's account-wide Legacy System unlocks after a player earns the first Legacy Point. Level 25 is a common first milestone, but the announced system also includes a crafting and exploration route for players whose first character progresses differently.

Scope: World of Warcraft: Forever beta and officially announced systems, current through the research date in October 2026. Availability and exact recipes may change; items that are still unconfirmed are labeled rather than invented.

Three documented first-point paths

Blizzard's explanation describes reaching level 25 on a character as the typical way to unlock Legacy. Other routes include reaching 150 skill in a non-gathering primary profession or exploring the full world map. These are distinct activities; merely learning a gathering profession or visiting several zones does not automatically qualify for a point.

How to find the interface

Once the first point is earned, the Legacy interface becomes available through its shield menu icon and the default Y hotkey. Before concluding the feature is broken, confirm the challenge actually completed and that the character is using the correct Forever client. An achievement-style entry shown in the database is not proof that its requirement was fulfilled.

Separate earned points from spendable points

Legacy Challenges grant account-wide progress and the associated perks can help multiple characters. Blizzard described sixty-five challenges in total and an initial launch spending cap of sixteen points. Do not confuse the full available challenge pool with the maximum allocation accessible immediately.

Choosing a first perk

Review the perk's prerequisites and the activity you will actually do next. A profession-focused player may value a crafting convenience; a frequent traveler may prefer movement and routing improvements. Use the site's Legacy Planner to compare alternatives, and note which features are still beta-limited.

Make a reliable plan

  1. Confirm that the system, instance or recipe is available at your current level and phase.
  2. Compare the resource or travel cost against what your next session needs.
  3. Verify the relevant tooltip or quest objective in the Forever client before committing expensive materials.
  4. Record changes with a build date so the next reader can tell what remains current.
