Reviewed on October 9, 2026. Reckoning now has a 1.5-second interval between triggers.

What changed in WoW Forever?
Reckoning now has a 1.5-second interval between triggers. Blizzard also fixed unintended Seal of Fury Mana recovery without Improved Seal of Fury and removed unwanted threat from certain Mana-restoration interactions. These corrections affect the resource and threat loop of Protection Paladins.
How the change affects players
A Paladin can appear unusually strong in an older beta video if a bug granted extra threat during a Mana-restoring action. After the fix, evaluate threat from actual combat abilities and the durability of the opener. Reckoning's trigger spacing reduces the value of stacking closely timed incoming attacks for unrealistic bursts.
The active beta is capped at level 30. Class tests at that level do not settle a future level-60 raid or battleground ranking. Record your talent ranks, equipment, enemy level, encounter length and the build date. Only compare combinations that you can actually use.
A practical way to respond
In a consistent dungeon pack, record Mana spent, target switching and when damage dealers can begin their rotations. Check whether the proper Improved Seal of Fury talent is trained. For Reckoning, observe many incoming hits rather than one lucky proc sequence and document your current rank.
Things to avoid
Avoid importing a setup built around unintended threat. A tank who maintains control, survives and sustains Mana normally is more useful than a spreadsheet exploiting a removed bug.
Verification table
Use these five checks while playing. Each one helps prevent an outdated beta observation from becoming a misleading universal recommendation.
| Check | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Reckoning timer | Find the corresponding live tooltip, interface setting or activity before relying on an old screenshot. |
| Improved Seal of Fury | Write down the value you observe and the exact level, rank or account eligibility that makes it relevant. |
| Resource return | Compare the measured result with your original plan, including any resource or travel costs. |
| Threat stability | Confirm whether the observation changes the outcome you care about instead of optimizing an unrelated number. |
| Dungeon pull sequence | Repeat the comparison after the next beta patch and update your shared notes if the result changes. |
Frequently asked question
Does Reckoning still trigger continuously after consecutive hits?
It is now limited by an explicit 1.5-second cooldown between eligible activations.
When should I revisit this guide?
Recheck after major beta patches, a level-cap increase or the launch build. The result can change without the central topic becoming irrelevant. Keep the specific observation that informed your decision so future changes are easy to audit.

An in-game scenario
A Protection Paladin holds several dungeon enemies while damage dealers switch targets. Previously, incidental Mana regeneration could incorrectly add threat, making a weak threat sequence look stable. After the correction, the Paladin may need to distribute damaging or tanking actions more deliberately. The player should observe which enemy switches first, how quickly Mana runs low and whether a threat cooldown is available for a new spawn. Changing talents without fixing the pull plan may not help.
Decision points and trade-offs
The Reckoning interval raises a different question: how frequently can the relevant trigger contribute during the fight? A crowded pack creates multiple incoming hits, but closely spaced events do not bypass the new 1.5-second limit. This is a reason to compare consistent attack windows rather than celebrate an unusual burst. When presenting an example rotation, include the specific Seal and talent condition, and explain what to do when Mana recovery is insufficient during a prolonged fight.
Can I regain Mana without Improved Seal of Fury because older videos show it?
The old unintended behavior was fixed. Check the appropriate talent rank and current Seal interactions before building around Mana regeneration.
