RP-PvP joins the WoW Forever ruleset choices on launch day, following Blizzard's October 22 update. This guide uses Blizzard's published information available as of October 30, 2026. Where a launch-client detail has not been independently checked, we say so.
What Blizzard has confirmed
Blizzard updated its ruleset announcement on October 22 to confirm that Roleplay-PvP is planned for the November 4 launch, rather than arriving only in a later phase.
Why this matters for your character
RP-PvP brings a roleplaying-oriented community together with the additional risks and social dynamics of player-versus-player world rules. It is distinct from choosing Normal, PvP or regular Roleplay.
What to do before or during launch
Players planning an RP-PvP guild should agree on event times, faction and roleplay expectations before reserving names. Check the game-client selection at launch rather than assuming the original September announcement remains current.
What is still uncertain?
Do not confuse the new ruleset system with individual legacy server names. Blizzard describes rulesets as broader player ecosystems, and specifics may evolve.
